Christopher Wood (Fast Company) made it two wins from two starts over hurdles today at Newbury for Paul Nicholls and owner Ms Sharon Kinsella.
Sent off a well backed 6/5 favourite, he travelled strongly and jumped well under Harry Cobden before pulling well clear after the last to win by 8 lengths.
This was a taking performance from Christopher Wood, defying a penalty and beating a good yardstick in the Philip Hobbs trained Zizaneur. There is surely much more to come from this progressive novice, and a tilt at Grade One company looks to be on the horizon.
After the race assistant trainer Harry Derham said “He’s taken very well to jumping, and he’s done that well today. The logical thing now is to step him up in grade. He will most likely go to Aintree”.
Christopher Wood was purchased at the 2018 Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale. For a full list of sales that EBS will be attending, click the link below.
