Mokaman (Dandy Man) breaks his maiden at Catterick for Grant Tuer and owners Moment Of Madness 2.
Having his third start here, Mokaman was strongly supported before the off and was sent off a well backed 11/4 joint favourite. He had shown up really well on his last start at Wolverhampton finishing second having been in front from a along way out. He broke smartly here and showed lots of early speed before asserting himself with two furlongs to run and when given the office by Paul Mulrennan he stuck on really well to win by a head at the line. This was a pleasing victory from Mokaman, made sweeter by the added Plus 10 bonus that he pick sup for taking the spoils, adding £10,000 to his winners purse.
After the race Mulrennan said, ”He is a very likeable horse, has a great attitude and lots of speed, I think he will stay six, but this was a good performance and there are more days in him for sure”.
The victory marked our 7th individual two-year-old winner of the 2020 turf season, an excellent return given we are just 6 weeks in to the season. Mokaman was purchased for £22,000 at the 2019 Goffs UK Silver Yearling Sale. For more information or to discuss and upcoming sales please do not hesitate to get in touch.
