Zinc White (Vadamos) wins his second race in succession taking the Casumo Horse Racing & Sports Betting Handicap at Sandown for Ralph Beckett and owners The Lucra Partnership.
Having won in eye catching style at Wetherby earlier in the month, Zinc White could not have been more impressive here under Rossa Ryan. He was keen enough through the early part of the race, but once he settled the race became a procession. He was asked to take it up just under two from home and just kept galloping away from the field all the way to the line, winning eased down by 7 1/2 lengths.
After the race trainer Beckett said ” He has been backward, but he has really blossomed over the winter. He is still learning and looks very progressive, I am delighted with that”.
This was another excellent result for The Lucra Partnership, now in its second year of existence and who were the owners of Group 2 winner New Mandate last season before his private sale. The Partnership is a trading syndicate with the aim of purchasing yearlings with middle distance pedigrees specifically to re-sell at some point during or at the end of their 2/3 year old season.
Zinc White looks a young stayer going places and it will be exciting to see where his next engagement takes him.
