Yesterday saw EBS purchase Pleaseletmewin lift Group 3 honours for Ralph Beckett and owner Richard Roberts, by winning the Worthington’s Alzheimers Society (Horris Hill) Stakes at Newbury.
Having been too keen in Autumn Stakes at Newmarket on future champions day, Pleaseletmewin showed improved maturity and a touch of class to win under an expert ride from Fran Berry.
Positioned behind the leaders early on, Berry asked his charge the question just over a furlong from home. The reponse was immediate with the gelded son of Power lengthening well to win by 2 1/4 lengths beating some smart juveniles in the process.
After the race Beckett said ” He is very versatile as he has won on soft, Polytrack and firm ground. You can see why he was gelded as he was keen to post and in the first half of the race. He was just too fresh at Newmarket last time. I don´t know what we will do with him next year yet but he has plenty of options”.
Purchased for £36,000 at the 2015 Goffs UK yearling sales, Pleaseletmewin has now amassed a total of £51,346 in prize money and a record of 3 wins from just 7 starts. Three of those starts being in Group races.
