Double Shuffle wins the 32Red.com Handicap Chase at Kempton, for Tom George and the ‘Crossed Fingers Partnership’, in what was the final televised race on Channel 4.
Having raced too freely in the Paddy Power Chase at Cheltenham’s Open meeting, the son of Milan was hooded first time on his first try over 3 miles to help temper his natural exuberance. It was a decision that paid dividends with Double Shuffle racing in a much more relaxed manner throughout. Positioned handily from the outset the gelding jumped well and saw the race out strongly under an in form Adrian Heskin.
Having now found his ideal trip, higher targets will now be in the sights of trainer George, who after the race said. ” He was very progressive last season, being placed in the novice handicap chase at the Cheltenham Festival. He likes better ground and enjoys 3m, although he has got natural pace for shorter ”.
Double Shuffle was purchased for £50,000 at the 2014 Brightwells Cheltenham Premier National Hunt Sale.
