Yearling purchase Dave Dexter (Stimulation) wins the 32 Red Nursery Handicap (class 3) at Chester for Ralph Beckett and owners Mrs Phillip Snow & Partners.
Dropping back down to 5 furlongs here, Dave Dexter didn’t enjoy the smoothest of trips around the roodee having been shuffled towards the rear of the field early. However, Harry Bentley was able to thread a passage up the rail in the home straight thanks to an impressive change of gear from his mount getting up in the dying strides to win by a head.
Beckett’s colt holds entries in the Listed Harry Roseberry stakes at the upcoming Ayr Western Meeting, and the £150,000 Tattersalls Auction Stakes at Newmarket in October, for which he should be well fancied.
