Holy Tiber (Holy Roman Emperor) wins the ‘32Red Casino Novice Auction Stakes’ at Nottingham for George Scott and owner Matt Bartram.
Purchased as a yearling for 20,000GNS at Book III of the 2016 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Scott’s filly took her record to 2 wins from just 3 starts with today’s success.
Strongly supported in the market beforehand, Holy Tiber was ridden by James Doyle and was a little keen early but went forward powerfully two furlongs out, showing a pleasing attitude to score by 1/2 a length.
After the race George Scott said ” It’s rained all day here and I’ve been trying to get Holy Tiber on slightly better ground, but with the help of the rail she knuckled down and used her experience. Something like the Empress Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday would have been something we’d have considered if it was a month down the line, but we’ll take her back and see. She’s still got a bit of growing to do and whether it’s nurseries or a crack at a little Listed race in Britain or in France, we’ll see”.
