James Watt (Morpheus) wins the Skybet, Britain’s Most Popular Online Bookmaker Novice Stakes (Plus 10 Race) making it two wins from his first two starts at Windsor for Michael Bell and owners Men Fae The Clyde.
The colt was a recent £26,000 purchase from the Goffs UK Breeze Up Sale and he is well on his way to paying that sum back, having amassed over £20,000 for these two victories (including the Plus 10 bonus picked up here).
James Watt travelled very strongly through his race here under the in form Hayley Turner having been steadied after a sharp break from the gate. When asked to quicken he did so in commanding fashion and won without being extended. Royal Ascot will now be the aim for this smart prospect.
The race held added significance for EBS as two purchases dominated the race. Yearling purchase Adam Tiler (Justin Phillip) finished a good second, and also looks to have plenty of talent for Robert Cowell and owner TW Morley.
