Private purchase Supasundae wins the ‘ Free Festival Upgrade Ticket Offer Hurdle ‘ at Punchestown for trainer Jessica Harrington and owners Ann and Alan Potts.
Settled close to the pace early on by Robbie Power, Supasundae jumped brilliantly and travelled powerfully throughout the race. Having pinged the final flight he quickened away from the runner up Monksland in the manner of a very smart prospect. Furthermore he was giving the runner up 4lb on the day, making his victory all the more impressive.
After the race trainer Jessica Harrington said ” We took a chance running him back so quickly, as he only ran 4 days ago, but he came out of Leopardstown really well and Robert said the other day that he wanted 2m4f. He´s got a lot stronger and jumped a lot better today. He´ll probably stay further”.
With loftier targets now in mind for the spring, Supasundae is certainly one to be placed in to the ‘exciting’ category.
