Private purchase Supasundae (Galileo) wins the Grade 1 Betway Aintree Hurdle for owners Alan & Anne Potts Ltd and trainer Jessica Harrington, collecting a third career win at the top level in the process.
In what was an attritional affair, Supasundae jumped well throughout and showed all of his trademark stamina, grit and determination to out stay last year’s winner and dual Champion Hurdler Buveur D’Air on the run in.
After the race rider Robbie Power said, “He’s a very tough horse. He’s won three Grade 1s now and never gets the credit he deserves. He’s just a really good horse. He’ll always pull one out, this fella. I was quite comfortable turning in and knew he’d keep finding. ”I’m delighted for the horse because he’s so tough and consistent, two and a half miles is probably his ideal trip.”
In addition to Supasundae’s triumph we were delighted to see HIT purchase Christopher Wood (Fast Company) finish a very pleasing third in the Grade 1 Doom Bar Anniversary 4YO Juvenile Hurdle for Paul Nicholls. He has been a progressive horse in his first season over obstacles and looks like one to look forward too next season.
